Privacy Policy for JS Locator

Last updated: 2026-04-27

JS Locator is a personal location tracking app. The app sends location data only to the tracking URL configured by the user inside the app.

Data the app may process

JS Locator may process:

How data is used

The app uses this data to send location updates to the endpoint selected by the user. JS Locator does not provide a central tracking server, does not sell location data and does not use location data for advertising.

Data sharing

Location data is sent to the URL configured by the user. The owner of that endpoint controls what happens to the data after it is received. Do not configure an endpoint that you do not trust.

Storage on device

The app stores configuration locally on the device. Optional credentials are stored using Android encrypted preferences when available.

Background location

If the user enables tracking and grants background location permission, JS Locator can continue sending location updates when the app is closed or the device is locked. Tracking can be stopped inside the app.
