Controller and contact

The controller is Jaka Šubic, Digitalhole.eu, a personal website at https://www.digitalhole.eu. Digitalhole.eu is not a company, association, or organisation. For questions, requests, or rights, email [email protected] or use the Contact page. No data protection officer has been appointed because, on the available facts, there is no legal obligation to appoint one.

Data and purposes

For operation, security, and troubleshooting, visits may involve the IP address, request time, requested URL, referrer, browser user agent, language, and technical logs. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR: the controller’s legitimate interest in secure and reliable operation. The site does not use this data for profiling or automated decision-making.

Data you provide

When you email us, the address, message, and attachments are processed to respond. Comments may involve the name, email, website, comment text, and data WordPress needs for moderation and abuse prevention. The protected download center may use a session and a confirmed recovery email; uploads may also contain file metadata, descriptions, and notes. The legal basis is fulfilling your request, a legitimate security interest, or, where required, consent. These data are voluntary, but a function may not work without them.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use essential cookies only. cookie_notice_accepted stores for about one month whether the cookie notice was accepted or hidden. digitalhole_site_lang on the main website and digitalhole_center_lang in the download center and legal pages store the selected language for up to one year; they use Secure and SameSite=Lax. PHPSESSID is a session cookie for the protected center or uploader; it supports login and expires after inactivity, no later than 30 minutes of inactivity. WordPress comment cookies comment_author_*, comment_author_email_* and comment_author_url_* are stored only if the user explicitly selects the comment option, normally for up to one year. Administrators may also receive WordPress login or security cookies when signing in. Appearance settings, the notice state, and some interface states are stored in localStorage, which is not a cookie. We do not use analytics, advertising, or profiling cookies. External plugins, links, or embedded content may set cookies under their own policies; we do not activate them without valid consent.

Recipients and transfers

Data may be accessible to hosting, technical infrastructure, email, security, and WordPress plugin providers, only as needed for their purpose. External links and embedded content may send data to another provider under that provider’s rules. Check the external provider’s privacy notice before using embedded content.

Retention and security

Logs and security data are retained as long as needed for security, troubleshooting, and incident evidence, then deleted or anonymised under hosting operational periods. Messages and comments are retained while needed for replies, publication, moderation, or legal claims. Recovery email data remain until changed or the feature is removed; password-reset links expire after 15 minutes. Access controls, HTTPS, session protection, and other reasonable safeguards are used, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, object to processing based on legitimate interests, and request portability where applicable. You may withdraw consent at any time; this does not affect earlier lawful processing. Requests are free unless manifestly unfounded or excessive. We may request information needed to verify identity.

Complaints and automated decisions

You may complain to the Slovenian Information Commissioner (https://www.ip-rs.si/) if you believe processing is unlawful. Digitalhole.eu does not make decisions based solely on automated processing that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
